Hi, the only way a payment can be returned from a bank transfer payment, is by the person who received the payment doing a BT to return it. I suppose in theory the buyer's bank could intervene but that would be very unlikely. In my experience it is hard enough trying to get the banks to correct their own mistakes, without trying to get them involved in things were they have no responsibility for the error.

I know you are not British but I would suggest that you have a look at this site, if you go to the site map and click on the payment options button that will give you quite good information. wwww.ukauctionhelp.co.uk

[QUOTE=HannaHolly;928026]I see the seller just got positive feedback from a buyer who joined 25 minutes earlier! remarkable to think they bought the phone, made arrangements with the seller to collect, drove to the sellers house to get phone and pay, then drove home to log on and leave feedback for the seller. might be worth drawing this to ebids attention [/QUOTE

-looks like a conman to me -save your money and report him to ebid plus bogus buyer ( same person ) .

Wow, that's the fastest Ive ever seen
Purchased at 19.58. Left feedback at 20.20 after having communicated and arranged collection - go there and come back and run straight to your pc to leave feedback. And this buyer had £1200 in cash ready to hand over on a Sunday evening?!?!, which is the only payment any seller would accept for collection!! unless said collection would be considerably later.
I'd leave well alone if I were you.

I've had local buyers who have collected their items, but generally organizing it, i.e the exchange of emails takes more then 20 mins.

Thanks for the helpful replies - you are probably right about the feedback. How to report the seller to eBid? Do I have to report the auction I bid on? And what category would that be?

I would hold of any communication with the buyer.

I have reffered the sale to support hoping that they will check it out. It looks even more dodgy than mainlypostcards made out. The buyer registered and within less than 3 minutes had found a phone to buy, which conveniently was near by then as mp say they also had £1K in readies available within 20 minutes.

I can't speak for anyone else, but the only buyers I have seen move that quickly after signing up turned out to be scammers.
