Oh dear just come back and seen this thread! Why do you need to put china and porcelain into antiques when we have our own date lined categories in pottery, porcelain & glass?
That's where I put all my antique and collectable items and would be my first port of call if searching for a piece of Deco or Victorian porcelain and china.

I suggested Antiques also have a sub cat for China & Porcelaine as that would be where I would expect to find an Antique or Collectible item.
As a seller I would want to list an Antique piece of porcelaine china in the correct category ( Antique in Antiques category. where it would have more prominence.
On the big site I have often seen posts where posters state they would not sell on ebid, that the Antiques & Collectibles are non-existent on ebid.
Now I know the reason for those posts. Its not that they are non-existent, its just the antique & Collectible Porcelain & china is not where non ebid buyers expect to find them.
Look at it another way.
If you are a buyer of Antiques wouldnt you expect to find them in the antique section on ebid just as you would on all the other sites you buy on.?.
If it wasnt for my initial post I wouldnt of known the Antique & Collectibles China was in that other section. Maybe I was wrong to assume that section was for every day run of the mill china?.
How many buyers would make the mistake I made.
I sell on this site.

Hello Trina. Even on eB-y, Date Lined Ceramics (and Date Lined Glass) come within Porcelain, pottery and glass, not Antiques. I sell lots of pre 1840 porcelain on eB-y and I put it in Porcelain, Pottery and Glass.
I would have said that too Victor.
I've always looked for antique items on greedbay in the date lined section of 'Porcelain Pottery & Glass'. You might occasionally find something in the decorative arts sub category in 'Antiques' over there but most things are in the 'Porcelain Pottery and Glass' section.
