    Smile new catagorys,knife scales,exotic lumber,ivory,materials

just some suggestions that are large catagorys on ebay that would do well. ivory was taken off ebay as a catagory.
when instead it should have been FOSSILIZED IVORY catagory. or ivory"fossilized". exotic lumber is another big catagory.as is burl lumber. i sell and buy on ebay in these catagorys. wish to see them here.

Craig you need to put the request in the correct format. Look at the sticky in the forum entitled "Read before adding your request"

I don't think so. I think (but am no expert) that only elephant ivory is banned in UK law. But *all* ivory is banned from feebay. It's a rare case where their exclusions out-do the legal position.

Did you know that ebay are having such a clampdown on sellers passing off ivory as bone in order to get around the ban, ebay have now stipulated that if you are selling ANYTHING with bone, (e.g. inlay, ornament, box etc), you must state the origin of the bone which as everyone knows is well nigh impossible.

By the way, I'm new to the site - only logged in yesterday but couldn't resist responding as the bone/ivory question was the straw that broke the camel's back. I don't sell ivory (at all) but I do sell, perhaps, boxes that might be inlaid with one, and I was selling a letter opener made out of bone (it was definitely bone), and bone handled cutlery, both of these got cancelled. Of course what made everyone mad is that ebay never told anyone that it had revised it's policy to include bone items.

Anyway, is there a Guides section on this site that I can look at and bone up on the rules and procedures. Have had a quick look at the main page, but can't really see anything.

    Regards
    Jane C (wat3r)
