    Question postage

    Hi,
    When a seller has a item that gets lost in the post and has to make a claim do the post office / royal mail refund the cost of the item that sold or do they only refund the postage cost,I had a radley purse that sold for £24.99 and it didnt get to the buyer so i refunded by paypal.Will i get the £24.99 back.I have printed the ebay and paypal invoice's to send with my claim form.Hope you can help.

    You will need to supply the original invoice that you got when you brought the item. This is one of the requirements for feebay claims.

    They should refund the amount your customer paid for the goods but they will NOT refund the amount you paid for postage. I don't think they refund the p&p charge that your customer paid, either.

    That's why I have never seen the point in using online postage. You still have to go to a Post Office to get your certificate of posting in case you need to claim - so you may as well do it all there.

    I only use online post when i have some to go saturday mornings, this way i dont have to queue i just leave them at the hatch and leave a COP
    on the top and they return it to me monday all stamped.

    Royal Mail will want the receipt of the item as they will only refund what the seller paid for it. So to claim you need Proof of posting, receipt of postage paid(if you are claiming that), receipt for the item from when you bought it(a joke when selling things 2nd hand that you have owned a few years) invoice printout of the sale. I don't hink I forgot anything. Tomorrow I have two claim forms to fill out

    i dont have the receipt from the shop as the purse that i sold was a gift to me in the first place,will i not get a refund without it...
