Angry Crossed-out name, dropped Auction and no Store!

    Hello,

I am a total newbie at buying anything online, so I was a little hesitant buying something on this site. Turns out I was right to be hesitant. In November of 2008, I bought an item from a seller, I think it was November 4th. 20 days later the seller FINALLY responds to my nervous e-mail; I thought that I had been duped. Now I was careful in choosing who to buy from. The seller had only 2 negative feedback, and it was only due to the delivery taking a lot of time.

I'm alright with waiting, so long as I know I will be getting the package. So the seller tells me that there were technical difficulties and that the package will be sent shortly. True to their word, the package was sent a week later, on December 3, or something in early December. I get the package in 12 days, and I was really happy with the time. However:

They sent me the wrong package.

This was supposed to be a Christmas present, and it was already December 19, there was no way I could get the present in time for Christmas. None the less, I e-mailed the seller seeing if I could return the package and get the proper item. I waited a week, and decided to ship it myself with my own money - I'm regretting that now.

One week after sending the package, I check back to see if the seller has said anything, but their name is now crossed-out. I understand what this about, so I e-mailed the seller to see if they would still give me the proper item. They did not respond.

One week later and the auction is gone.

Apparently, it's never existed. I go back to see what the hell is going on with the seller, only to find their name is still crossed out and they have no store. Could anyone tell me what is going on? I am so annoyed at the seller. I've e-mailed EBID about this auction and will be e-mailing the seller soon. I've put this up here to see if anyone else got stuck with the same problem.

Phew, excuse the long post, but I am just so ticked off - it's been almost 3 months! If anyone has any ideas, I would be SOOOO grateful.

    Thanks.

Hello LoriW22, Poor you - I am so sorry to hear about this.

Your seller's name is crossed out because there is a problem with the member. This could be something simple like an error in their address or it could be a more serious issue.

Was your payment backed by a credit card? If so then contact the cardholder.

Otherwise it looks as though you will need to consider legal action/file a police complaint as appropriate in your country.

I have to say that a decent seller would have made some attempt to contact you, even sending you a message via the forum facility. Sadly this doesn't appear to have happened in your case.

Thank you! Ugh, I really hope I don't have to resort to legal action! You wouldn't happen to know how to find a seller's e-mail adress, would you? I've tried looking all over thier account, and nothing shows up.

    Thanks again!

That's the problem, though. Apparently I never bid on any auctions, beacuse the seller deleted their store - or it was forcefully deleted, I don't know. Any other ways?

Have you tried clicking on the links in any of the email notices you got when you bought, in case the details can be reached that way?
