Does it work more like a hay conditioner then?

I haven't really been around any, so I don't know for sure but I would assume so. I am not involved in the farming process, just the machinery.

The hay condtioner bruises the leaf a little bit so it dries faster, and also more evenly. Hay put up that has been conditioned is less likely to have fungus in it, and also is dry enough to bale more quickly. Most of the people around here who use them do dairy hay, either for their own animals or on contract.
