I remember my first YDC, when I'd only just joined the site - my purchase arrived the same day as I posted the cheque for it! My seller happened to be the same person who'd nominated the charity and I was waiting for payments to arrive in order to send a single cheque to her. (I was still used to the "you know where caution" about sending goods out early and it really made me feel part of the gang)

Yes, experiences from the 'other place' do taste rather bitter and the bitterness does linger to say the least.

This is only my second YDC, but all my buyers are forum regulars, and I've sold to some of them before. It may seem daft but I feel from when I've chatted to them and from the way they are on the forums that I can trust them. That said, I've only 2 payments outstanding - one is away and the other is sending payment via cheque, so the goods and payment will be arriving at their destinations at the same time - but its only a small amount too.

If they were total strangers - not forum users, or hadn't dealt with them before, then I probably would wait to get the money in before passing it on, and before posting the goods.

Maybe I read it wrong then I always though it was the person that raised the most money with their combined items and not based on a single item? Can you enlighten us Shezz!

For as long as I've been taking part in the YDC it has been who can raise the most from a single item.

It was originally called Yorkies Daft Competition, because it was who could list the daftest item, and raise the most from it.
We have had some great ones in the past..like the invisible t-shirt, box of sawdust, the empty m&m packet for those who were on a diet...I'm sure others will remember more.

Unless the rules have changed...it being for a single item made it fairer as everyone who listed an item had an equal chance of winning...
so someone who could only list one item had as good a chance as someone who listed dozens.

    Default Money! Money! Money!

Good morning! I'm very new to all this and don't really understand what to do next. Maybe what I need is for someone to give me Dan's details, so that I can forward the auction money, when it arrives from my buyer. Thanks , Steven

    Press and check me out?
