Greetings all, I'm one of the new North American refugees, lugging a suitcase full of goodies. I find myself with limited options for posting and am suggesting that in Toy & Hobby the **Train** category needs to be divided into sub categories with their own sub-divisions.
To start with you need to distinguish between Toy Trains such as Thomas the Tank Engine and Lionel and the trains that appeal to the model builder so there need to be separate categories labeled [Toy Train] and [Scale Model Railroad] I know there is some cross-over, individual sellers need to make their own judgment where to slot their product. Next the division needs to be made by European, North American, or Australian design (eventually there will need to be a category for Oriental designs). Then by era. Modern diesel, early diesel, transition era, superpower-steam era, early 20th century, late 19th century, early railroading.
Once this basic classification system is in place it is now time to organize things by the various scales and track gauges. (Many of these are already in place)
Next Level of sort should be by category of equipment. Locomotives, Rolling Stock (Passenger or Freight and sub-sorts by car type), Track & Controls, Structures, Scenery and Details.
Finally there should be a sort by brand name. Some of the more recognized European brands are already up but the popular American lines need to be in place such as: Bachmann, Athearn, Roundhouse for starters.
I'm sure this is enough to keep admin banging their heads against their keyboards and asking - - - Who is this guy? Just somebody that wants to see it done right, not the hash that greedBloat made.
Thanks for your time.
