Smile How to generate more sales here as ebay

    Hi
We've not long had a shop on Ebid ( having jumped ship from feebay,
and just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to generate more sales here as we had on Ebay.
people are looking - satistics show that - but not so many buys. All our prices are cheaper here than ebay due to less fees - but people still buying from ebay.
any ideas on how to do this - or to improve our site (we're styillw orking on it - so open to suggestions)

You could email you buyers and tell them where you are. But when doing so, be careful no to spam people.

Also join the eBid youtube group, facebook group etc.

I would also think about offering google checkout, on a £200 transaction paypal fees are £7.00 and google would be £3.15

I feel that when more of the sellers leave feebay, then more buyers will pop over to ebid, just a matter of time

We had never heard of ebid and it wasn't long after we did that we signed on. I think word of mouth really pays off. I expect to be escorted off that other site soon because I keep mentioning ebid.

    Hi all

Just wanted to share a few ideas I had to get my sales figures up here

I still sell on feebay, cant afford not to yet as this is my full time job but I am desperately wanting to give it up due to all the changes

With the fee increases, everytime I relist now I am increasing my price by 26p.....so every £1.99 item is now £2.25 etc etc
I send between 10 and 20 parcels a day and every buyer gets a flyer telling them that I am now listing on here and why, I explain that feebay shop fees and fvfees have increased to ridiculous levels and I have had to increase prices accordingly. Then in bold red writing I tell them that on ebid because there are no fees I have dropped my prices,,,,£1.99 items are now only £1.85. On the back of the flyer is a sticker with EXCLUSIVE EBID OFFER, BUY ANY FOUR ITEMS CHOOSE A FIFTH ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!

I started listing on here a few months ago and yes sales are slow but have had enough sales now that my seller lifetime is paid for and am now in profit, and a lot of my sales are from my flyers....feebay customers. Everyone is feeling the pinch and if they think they can save a few pennies they will look elsewhere

I have also put a link to my ebid shop and a link to join on my emails with a message,,,,,,REDUCED PRICES

I have 350ish listings on feebay and my monthly fees are £100+,,,,,,my invoice for september on here was just over a fiver!!!

Sellers are leaving or increasing prices, I have been doing a daily count of personalised cards and until the new best match search came in numbers were dropping dramatically. Now I cant do it as the search isnt reliable, put in personalised cards and you get the most random items.

I have also signed up for google checkout on here and have had some sales with buyers paying that way, it charges credit cards so they dont need funds in paypal or money in the bank and is easy to set up.

When I started selling here I took it as a new start, knew I would have to get customers again and these things take time. My feebay business took a year to get me into profit with equipment etc as do all businesses and advertising yourself I think is the main thing.

Hope this has helped and there are lots of other sellers on here far more experienced than I am with much better advice

Good luck all,,,this is really a better, freindlier place and much less stressful so worth sticking at

There's something long-time GreedBayers may have forgotten . . . how long it took to get started over there! We had our store on the darkside for ten months, sold nothing the first two months, sold around 300 items the next six months, sold almost nothing the past two months. I expect it will take just as long to get started here.
