Lose the flashing r's
Keep the flashing r's
~Jan~
I logged on today and saw no flashing "r" anywhere.
Then I realised I had loads of little red crosses
Wouldn't a few seconds for some kind of official comment about these little niggles people have be in order? If people know something is being addressed they can relax without getting stressed out about little things like this?
JMHO
I think the sweeping brush may have done some good JewelEffects........I see the vote is up to 50 to lose the pesky flashing r's !!!!!
People really seem to dislike them - it is on nearly every forum topic!
I suppose if they haven't got a reserve the reserve price is met
Backwards is still backwards......I don't care where you are from.......no one thinks this way that you have to identify an auction with NO RESERVE. That's like hanging a scarlet A around your neck..................and just plain ridiculous! Unless of course you are trying to make sure that auctions are ignored or shunned. Then why pretend you're an auction site?

I understand that the ebid teams idea is that to have no reserve is a good feature.....and I do agree but I would think that it is the auctions WITH a reserve that should be flagged. Do you think it would be better if the flashing r's were on the items WITH a reserve - would it be fair not to have them on any of the Auctions - at real Auctions there is no way of knowing unless you ask......????????????
Completely agree that icons should be used to highlight UNUSUAL things.
But a standard no reserve auction doesn't need to be kissed with the colour of danger (red), blessed with a warning that flashes and hindered with the confusion of an either/or message on rollover.
Unfortunately this isn't about the regular sellers here in the forum. It's about the impression given to potential buyers who may be visiting eBid for the very first time. I would have thought sellers would like anything that isn't needed on the site which is also percived as a negative by even a few people to be removed PDQ.
Agree totally. Won't repeat my reasoning. See 'Blinking No Reserves' for the rest of the debate at:
