Activity counter on front page

I've mentioned this a couple of timesnow , but never necessarily in the right place, so a quick repost here:

As I've mentioned elsewhere this morning, I think some sort of "hit counter" would he helpful, and might be easier to implement? A counter on the front page showing current bids, sales closed, anything that indicated there was successful activity not just listing!

Yeah, I liked to have seen this when I was a newcomer, but having seen the traffic flow compared to FeeBay, I can see why your suggestion hadn't been taken up.

Currently I can see for myself that the Listings have increased in volume, but the ratio to sales might not be as successful as other sites just yet (?) so may not be good enough to brag about on the HomePage.... Not unless the stats are hidden and accessed by Sellers only?....

I guess they could always put on one that says "X number of bargains still waiting to be snapped up"... that would be a nice big number and might be a bit more encouraging.

Yeah, that's a nice phrasing!!
Though you can see/get the feel of the number of bargains by roughly totting up the listings on the left hand side in each category.

I would like moreover to see the other stats you suggested i.e. no.of Sales this month etc
