How to promote ebid

How about if you go to a car boot sale, take loads of ebid flyers with you and just hand them out leave them on peoples tables with there permission of course , i have a wander around some Sundays if my weary old bones will let me, just like tio talk to the store holders and see if i can find anyrecords for my personal collection, and i have noticed that everyone who i have talked to NO ONE NOT ONE OF THEM HAVE HEARD OF EBID , now is that is sad or what.
I for one will be up at my local one this Sunday handing out loads of flyers, that i am just about to print out over the next few days.
It's the last carboot at my local as the football season is taking over, so hopefully a few will bite.

I've been doing that Huddy - also asking at the door of local anitques fairs if they will have small (A6) flyers on the entrance table where they advertise other fairs. Most fair proprietors are OK, but a few are very 'sniffy' about it.
I also do jumble sales where I can.

Can but try, need to do something to get this site moving i'm beginging to grow cobwebs ,i am fed up of listing now but will carry on till i hit the 1.000 mark, if i had that many listings elswhere i'd be bankrupt with the relist fee's .
Might be nice if we saw a bit of advertising in the papers ect though, this site needs all the help it can get at the moment, dont get me wrong i'm not moaning doesnt worry me if my records sit there for the next ten years ,isnt costing me anything

Hi,
This may be a stupid question. I just joined yesterday and I can't seem to find the link I need to add to my email signature so when I email people they may sign up. Can anyone help me to loate this link. I've looked in My Ebid and I can't seem to locate it. Sorry, and thanks for the help.

My ebid > My Buddy Points, and about halfway down the page you'll see your buddy link. That's the one for people to use to join ebid, and you get "points".

Hi leevc welcome to eBid, OK to help you get started add a signature link to your posts so us nosey lot have an easy link to your items whilst reading the forums, read this thread http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=100959 then fill in some info on Your About Me Page so people know about you as a seller. Perhaps buy a few things to kickstart your feedback over here, always looks better than a zero, ( I have some nice cheap prints ) have a look at my listings to see how I dealt with the zero feedback problem when I started.

Then email all YOUR (not Greedbay's they are a venue, they keep telling us) customers, and tell them where you are, give them a link to your listings. Grab the records while you can and from paypal records as well. That should keep you busy for a bit, and shout if you need a hand. Additional body parts incur a small fee Oh and finally read the forums there is a lot of useful information on here.
