They have changed the way Recoded Delivery is done at post office, i use to have the red sticker all done and stuck on but now they have to do it through the computer entering address and post code, it takes forever now.

As long as you / anyone wishing this to happen has a gift address if paying by paypal, then I as a seller don't care where it's sent to (except nigeria) then we are both happy.
Yeah offering a choice is better.

I can't even have stuff delivered to a work address because I work in several buildings and my times change all the time, that's why I prefer RM.

Isn't there a word for taking money for a service you don't provide? Oh yes... Fraud.

Well folks... you can all blame maggie Thatcher and her policies way back....
When My Husband joined Royal mail as a postman he had to sit a test...had his records checked to make sure he was trustworthy and took a promise to guard and deliver HM mail safely...
Those days are now gone and with the new working practices and huge weights of junk mail and catalogues they have to deliver most of the older ,regular, usual and normal posties are taking painkillers for their bad backs die to the weights they carry and have a supply of plasters for blistered feet because the RM supplied boots are carp.(Husband gets through several pairs a year!!!

Just out of interest, now that the mail is a free for all and there are companies like TNT being paid to deliver mail.... Guess what....
TNT get paid by customer to collect & deliver mail....TNT don't have many foot postmen... so they pay RM to deliver their letters, usually junk mail or bills to the private homes...
RM is not allowed to lower their prices because that would stop the competition.and therefore have to fight to survive...Postmen and postoffices have to go, the postmen left have twice as much work for the same pay...When a postie is off sick often any Tom Dick or Harry is employed to deliver... they can't sort quickly cos the younger ones are not good at reading!! So sorting is left to the regular posties who have to sort the sick posties mail as well as thei own...

Up to about five years ago the sorting was done at night by a trained team....then posties went out early and had time to deliver twice a day.. Now Hubby goes in, sorts his walk, puts the many hundreds of letters into a series of bags.. these bags are then put into drop boxes on his rounds...sometimes there is not enough room in the drop boxes and he may have to go back to the PO to collect his other bags...All this on foot, in all weathers.
So spare a thought for your regular Postie... they aren't too happy with the situation either.....It was a lovely job... now not so and posties now do not last long in their work place due to the working conditions and bad backs!!

And before anyone says... yes there are trollies available.. BUT if you leave the mail on a trolly unattended and you go up someones long stepped garden path it tends to get stolen and the postie can be done for neglect! So trollies are only used in towns!. Bicycles are not an option ina town with rows of terraced houses.. so only one way...posties have to carry the bags!

When I used to sell on the Dark Side I had loads of instances when the postie didn't leave a while you were out card so the customer had no idea the item had been taken back to the depot, only found this out by using the tracking number!!!
