    raindropsies2, I Could Kiss You!
    (but I won't as I don't 'know' you ... yet! LOL

    What an amazing 'Tip' ...

You've freed up some of my headspace
    LOL
No more 'worrying' about that particular 'non-esential' ...
From now on I can Happily say I accept Postal Orders and not bother my shirt (the one that's not up for auction)
whether or not it's a crossed one!
    LOL
    Yey
I'm Delighted to say Thank You ....
How do I add you to my 'favourites' on eBid?
    LOL
Seriously though, you really do deserve 'recognition' for this tip.
Is there a 'Tip of the Month'/'Tip of the Week' thread?

    Hi bournetrends,
I used to do that 'elsewhere' ...
send everything via Signed For I mean ...
    LOL

Only I found folks weren't bidding, mainly because they were not able to be in to receive packages and didn't want to go out of Their way to collect from their local sorting office. As a result, and as most of my packages won't fit through letterboxes, .... I was losing 'sales' ..

Then I hit on offering all my buyers a Choice ..
they could chose either Second Class Signed for
    or
    Second Class Standard
    At the Same cost
... Always putting the 'signed for' at the top ..
that way That Other Site displayed the right amount for postage and buyers, most of whom paid 'instant' and with PeePall, Automatically selected the Signed For because, I found to my advantage,
many /most (would you believe All !) my buyers didn't even bother reading what the P&P is For ...!
    My sales went up overnight!

In addition, most of my packages (would you believe All !) went via Signed For, which suited me but, as it was 'the buyers Choice' the buyers were 'Happy' too..
    You couldn't make it up!

Now I'm with eBid, I offer Standard Second Class
but I don't accept PeePal (nor anywhere else that might allow claw-backs!) Not Yet Anyway ...

So far I've not sold a thing!
Maybe eBid isn't any good for selling 'used' clothing?
If anyone can advise me I'd welcome their input.

A crossed postal order is supposed to be paid into an account with a name matching that of the payee. That's the whole point of crossing it (and to be on the safe side, writing A/c payee only on the crossing). If your local PO is bending the rules I suspect it's because they know you by name, or else they don't know the rules. Or else I don't. In which case that's the last time I send anyone a crossed PO -- I thought they were as secure as a cheque against being thieved and cashed.

So the banks make some money on your overnight interest? Well, boo hoo! If you have a personal account with no charges as long as you stay in the black, how do you think a bank pays for the building, the staff, and all the other costs of running a high street operation?
