    Hi Bassoon Man

No the first three are all I've had so far. I was so excited about those, that I felt sure that I had broken the ice, but not yet. You know when I was on greedbay or feebay, in the first two three months of selling, I had 12 nonpaying scammers. I got to where I could recognize them by their weird email addresses and when I spotted one overbidding a legitimate bidder I would I would immediately refuse their bid. It was terrible over there.

How do determine postage when I don't even know where it is going to? When is this new postage system suppose to take affect?

Could someone please explain what all the fuss is about with the US postal service? Isn't there a website you can go to which has a calculator on it, like the one we use for Royal Mail (or the excellent one here: http://www.seajays.org.uk/postage/index.cfm?)? (yes, I know this is for Royal Mail, it's just an example).

    How about here:
    http://www.usps.com/tools/calculatepostage/welcome.htm

    or here:
    http://postcalc.usps.gov/

If you put the parcel dimensions and weight into your listings then people could calculate postage for themselves, and if you want to specify a fee for your time and expenses then that's up to you.

Yes there is. What I do is open a new tab for USPS and switch back and forth. I estimate from my zip code to New Yorks Zip Code, and I'm always pretty close for the other zones. We have 8 Zones in the US, which is a real pain in the you know what.

I didn't have a fuss until my country started being attacked "Verbally" on this forum, that's when my dander came up.

I'm glad I am in the Uk, we have stanard Uk rates, + only 2 rates that are commonly used outside Uk, thats airmail Europe & airmail rest of the world. That seajays calculator is my friend, It keeps things really simple, & I need things to be simple most of the time.

...and when your country is responsible for processing more than TWO-THIRDS of the WORLD'S mail (sending and receiving), THEN you'll understand why our postal system is a little more complicated than just "inbound and outbound" mail. *sigh*

That's an amazing statistic, where did you get it?

Okay, so my dyslexia got the best of me this morning...it's actually 46% of the worlds mail (not 64% as I indicated below). That was last year's estimate...could've changed since then...still impressive none-the-less?!

    Here's the link:
    http://www.usps.com/communications/n..._2007_0420.htm

    Here's the text:
An independent federal agency, the Postal Service is the only delivery service that visits every address in the nation — 146 million homes and businesses — six days a week and also has 37,000 retail locations. It relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses, not tax dollars. USPS has annual revenues of $73 billion and delivers more than 46 percent of the world's mail volume.

You're right, whichever way round you write it, it's still a big percentage.

well there's a thing ??? they are boasting about how much they deliver...then say how much they make ( $73 billion ) well I think THEY should supply a postage calculator...yes I suggest you ask them for one ....and this is only a polite suggestion.....I might also ask if anyone HAS ASKED THEM for one ???? ...;.Papa. ( I bet that is me in the bad books again....)
