Before I was "a respectable" working Mum I worked on a Chat line, my shift was 10pm to 3am and once I recived a parking ticket for parking in a disabled spot outside work, there were no other cars parked in any of the other 6 disabled spots and there was no other parking within half a mile.

If you lend a badge out to family and friends and the user of the badge is not being carried in the car , then the car can be crushed.

I park it like I stole it, unfortunately I dont give a hoot what it says on the floor, dont worry i park on double yellows aswell, never paid a ticket either :P in this day and age of equal opportunity I have the equal right to park where want, parent toddler parking pfft apparantly too many kids are obese nowadays so parent toddler parking for asda should be in tesco car park.
Flame me if you want but remember this is a forum where everyone has a right to an opinion even if you dont like it.
My gripe with disabled benefits is the blatant cheaters I completely agree that disabled people should be given opportunity etc but it makes you wonder what the hell the benefit squad are thinking when they hand it out to able bodied people who have a sick note.

Default I think I should have called it the Angry thread against disabled

Why is there so much anger being showed to disabled people? Should a disabled person be treated the same as undisabled people?

People don't want a disability do they?

I have a disabled daughter ( who doesn't qualify for a badge), had a disabled sister and a terminally ill daughter who qualified for a disability badge for a short while...I can honestly say I never have and never will park in a disabled spot.
But I have to agree with outboards...I live near quite a few people who claim DLA for depression, bad backs and even obesity (sp?), all these people have or still do work on the side, but all proudly display their badges to get their priority parking.

oh and i have a bad back

my spine is more like a 70 year olds everyones spine thins as they get older mine has thinned already and the types of jobs i have done have not helped ,
just because someone suffers from a bad back does not mean they are faking it if only i have pain 24/7 my wife has to put my socks on before she goes to work as i cannot bend far enough , yet dhss doctors say i am ok pmsl even though they have only read reports from other dhss doctors , when i am 70 i have no pension due to i refuse to travel to sign on for my n i stamps , just in 2 years my stamps have dropped to below the minimum pension levels ,

not everyone is scamming the system

Merlin do you have AS? I have that problem and I know how you feel I would average out 3 months of the yr I am immobile the rest I am just in pain my job I believe has bugred mine also all the yrs of heavy lifting and weightlifting in my earlier yrs didnt help either doh.
Raindropsies I dont think its meant as anger towards disabled people but more anger towards the rules and regs there are 5 disabled bays in a CP near to me opposite a pub I have only ever seen 1 disabled car parked in it on a fri/sat night the 5 bays stay empty while the rest is full and the cars are that worry about a ticket go into residential streets disturbing everyone when there is 5 empty spaces, its just crazy(only 4 empty spaces if I go though )

My post wasn't a go at everybody who is disabled, it was about those who fraudenatly use the system, I had an ex brother in law who used to "buy" his sicknotes off his doctor in order for him to be classed and paid for by the DLA as disabled..
Outboards I think there is a ruling as to how many disabled bays you must provide depending on the size of the car park ( I will check thou with the O/H as this is in his area of work expertize)

wow, Outboards, i have a picture of my parking exactly like yours, although im more careful when i can get clamped/fined etc, i'v got a picture of my parking in a works carpark as wonky as it gets, with the space line in the middle of the car, the left of the car in the parking space, and the right side in a crossed no parking section

as for money saving, well we all know the UK economy is failing bad, the answer to this is...when its hit rock bottom, take out shares, due to inflation and the UK economy recovery the share prices would have to rise in long enough time

Upside to that being that if family and friends are in the car when its crushed they will then qualify for their own disablement badges
