Default Linking to list of items for sale

I am having a bit of trouble figuring out the url to use for an external link to my list of items for sale on eBid.

The url when the list of auctions is displayed seems to have no constancy. Three examples are:

    http://uk.nine.ebid.net/perl/account...ccount-pending

    http://uk.ten.ebid.net/perl/main.cgi...arch&type=user

    http://uk.four.ebid.net/perl/main.cg...arch&type=user

The last two are pretty much the same but for the textual number after the uk. at the start of the url. Other variations on the above have been seen.

How do I set up a link if the url is never the same from one moment to the next?

Put all your listings in a store, then link the store. That's the only way I know how to do it. People who have been here longer might know a different way though.

Don't use the first one, it takes everyone to their own listings.

The differences with the last two are only server numbers, normally listings can be found on servers three four nine or ten, (images are on six).
So you can use any of them, it really doesn't become an issue unless one of the servers has problems.

Thanks for that explanation. I have not come across that form of construct before. I thought what server you were on was normally transparent.

I note from the link to your store in your response that you omit the server number and just use http://uk.ebid.net/....

If I do similar and use:
    http://uk.ebid.net/perl/main.cgi?wor...arch&type=user

That seems to also work. Is there an advantage to doing that - possibly making the url server independent?

The reason I want to get it right first time is that the link will on a site outside my immediate control. I don't want the embarrassment of having to keep going back to the site owner and saying 'I got it wrong again. Could you change it just one more time?'

    Regards,

    Mel
