Thread: Top Gear

  1. #1

    Default Top Gear

I'm glad Top Gear is back, but much as I'm an enthusiast of the 'gang', isn't it all becoming a little predictable and dare I say it boring. It's nice to see exotic machinery, but a bit more time on standard motors and motoring issues wouldn't go amiss. I get the feeling that they are plugging the old tried and tested formula and it is starting to get a bit stale. What do others think.

I missed it today as have been busy. Must admit though I like the super cars. I keep a goal board at home which I use to set goals for myself and measure how well I'm doing. Two of my goals are cars I've seen on Top Gear. I like to look at their pictures regularly. It keeps me working hard.

Love the series. Do you know when tonights will be repeated so I can see what I've missed?

Didn't see it Ken - I usually catch up with a later repeat somewhere down the line.

My interest in cars doesn't stretch past their ability to get me from A to B ....and any such interest wains with every price increase for petrol.

BUT - I really enjoy Top Gear and therein lies the rub - if they can make it entertaning for us non car folk I suppose they have to sacrifice some of the stuff which only real car enthusiasts would appreciate...... Off the top of my head I don't see why BBC can't provide a sister programme (half hour) called something like 'Top Gear Tech' where the trio can dig deeper into the cars like the old days.

They bombard us with umpteen different blinkin Dr Who progs....confidential....torchpaper......etc
