I lost my temper with one of them who said how much is it, so I said 25, he then said I'll give you 20 for it, I said no, so then he got out his 25 PENCE and thried to buy it for 25p, what a numb nuts. I just turned round to him and quite loudly said, Take it for nothing, will that make you happy you dumb ass. Needless to say the other booters around me looked to see what is going on, and the argument lasted for about 5-10 minutes with the bumb guy, and at the end of it the other stall holders clapped at the end when the guy went off on his merry way.

The thing with car boots is that you get a lot of people on day release from the local mental hospitals IMO, if this is not the case, there should be a lot more people in secure units, or send them to ebay to sell.

Was that at the Race Course? I've been there and Brought some bits from there......Miserable Nottingham People! Won't give me anything for Next to nothing! Seriously I brought loads of old Forest videos there for £2 the lot! (Abut 10 videos!)

We tend to sell at car boots and you do get a lot of cheeky people, however i think this down to maybe what they have bought the item for in the past on a car boot and what others are selling similar items for on that paticular car boot.

an example, the guy next next to me was selling mega blox things,in two bags, at a fiver each bag. This guy came along and said, ive just paid 50p for this lot here, why would i want to pay £10 for the same amount?

Some folks set up at boots to trade - others set up for a chin wag and to clear out some clutter - as long as they cover their pitch they haven't got a bottom line to think about - they just don't want to take anything back with them because the next port of call is a trip to the tip.

No it wasn't at the racecourse, been there done that (never again), it was on the A60 ravenshead bootfair.

I know you can get the bargains if you look properly, but to say MISERABLE NOTTINGHAM PEOPLE, is unfair, no matter where you go there are miserable people everywhere.

I am still amazed at some peoples cheeck though when they try to "haggle", oh well, the saying if you don't ask you don't get.

Merlin - why bother with a carboot and your pitch fee, rain, etc when you can list here for free?

    It will sell eventually

as i can`t walk around much so a nice sunny day sitting outside is much better than sitting here
