Question Only 1 photo at a time??

    Hi There,
Is there any way in which you can download more than 1 picture at a time as it seems to take ages!!!
Just wondering if I have missed something??
    Thanks

Do you mean upload, I find it onlyy takes a few seconds to upload my pictures. What size is the picture file, it pays to keep them small max 120K so optimize them before uploading to your gallery.

Hi They are just the ones that have come from the camera onto the finepix and then on my hard drive. They are really quick on feebay to upload, though quite slow here.
I was wondering if there was anyway I could upload more than one at a time so at least I could go off while it was uploading!!
    Thanks
    Rach

I agree, I wish you could just select all then upload in one hit

This is a good question to ask in the website suggestions forum.

You don't say what size the files are, if you are downloading them direct from your camera to your Hard Drive and uploading them from there they are probably far larger than they need to be. Resize them first to around 500x350 pixels in your imaging software, that is plenty large enough to use for an auction listing. If you are uploading 3meg picture files I'm not suprised it's taking ages!

Hi Ken, Sorry but I think you are missing my point!!
I am trying to make things quicker not slow them down.
I can upload the pics quite quickly on feebay and i can also upload them from the same page without opening and closing links all the time.
The question was more about doing something similar here. If i resize them first, I am not gaining any time back, even if they upload quicker, if you see what I mean!
    Thanks for the suggestion though

I'm not quite sure what you mean then, Glamglass, can you explain it differently. As I understand it, you have to have the pictures on your hard drive first, which as I said should be about 550x350 pixels. I then upload the pictures that i wan to use in my listings to My Gallery on eBid, they are then all sitting there ready for when I do my listings, it's just a case of picking the one I want from My Gallery, one click and it's done.

Hi Glamglass I think I understand what you mean - if you only have a few photos to upload to My Gallery it is quite quick, but if you have over a hundred it's not!

One way I managed to cut down time was to open three new 'windows' on my computer screen. I put 'my gallery' on each window, and work my way through the three of them ie
    • window 1: upload photo, while that's uploading, click onto
    • window 2: upload photo, and while that's uploading click onto
    • window 3: as above
By the time the 3rd window is uploading I can click back to window 1 and it's ready to upload again. Hope this makes sense, I'm not very good when explaining computer stuff

Hi Opis that's a great idea, yes I will try that
Sorry Not sure how else to describe what I mean Ken.
Uploading on feebay is almost instant with the same photo- on here it takes a wee while!!
I will try the OPIS method!!!
    Fingers crossed
    Rach :-)
