There are some great ideas here, but I think that one of the things that is holding eBid back is the way in which lazy journalists use 'eBay' when the really mean 'internet auction'. To give you a specific example, my wife showed me a copy of her Woman and Home magazine with an article on decluttering. Yes, you can guess, one of the suggestions was 'sell it on eBay'.
Perhaps we should be looking out for this type of article and when we find it write in and mentioning that eBay is now discriminating against this type of seller in several ways and that there is a viable alternative in eBid (it would be nice to see a million listings though). A lot of people do not read internet articles/forums, so this might just help.
