A lot of places advertise treated veg oil, this is fine, very much like 'City Diesel' I find the car runs better on the pure stuff.

Funny you mention that because the first time we ran the car up the road after putting in veg oil we ended up at the chip shop because it made us feel hungry
I believe it hahahahahaha Love it

On a serious note though, I have a 260 mile a week commute to work and back and it's costing me in the region of £15 to £20 per week compared to £50 in my old petrol car.
Thats a lot more mileage than me. I do not do much milage now I only spend about 25 a month on diesel so about a quarter of what you spend

Mind you his bill for vinegar is astronomic
On a serious note though we need to find an alternative to oil based technology. More development needs to be done on converting water into hydrogen and oxygen,, burn the hydrogen in an oxygen enriched air flow combustion system and it must produce more power. Problem is their are too many vested interests in the oil industry.

On the veg oil subject, aren't you supposed to pay the tax man for the stuff you put in your car? I don't know if it's the same rate as normal diesel or petrol. Total rip-off if you ask me, but I heard they can and will prosecute you if they find out you haven't been paying it (and the smell of chips is a dead give away that you're running on veg oil!)
I think I'm going to be stuck with small engine petrol cars for the foreseeable future, don't need anything bigger anyway and the little Nissan has 16 valve twin cam so goes very well indeed. Drive in the correct gear and accelerate calmly, save the pennies.

We looked into this, there is an allowance per year before paying the the tax man . The bigger supermarkets are starting to cotton on to this and veg oil off the supermarket shelf is fast approaching diesel prices per litre so it really pays to shop around. When you buy from the companies who deal in veg oil diesel, many willl include tax in their price per litre, and this is now the cheaper option.

You're dead right there Ken, The technology is already in existence for a workable hydrogen engine but unfortunately with so much of the world's economy dependant on oil I reckon that higher powers are suppressing any large scale development.
