    Cool Any advice welcome!

    Hey,
Im just looking for some advice really. I opened up an eBid store and have a good few items for sale (DVDS), thing is I am not selling ANYTHING. ha. I know its the luck of the draw etc, but im just wondering if anyone has any tips for me?

I live in Ireland and ebid isnt known at all over here, and I think that could be whats holding back international sellers or UK sellers (Postage etc) so I sorted that and offer free postage. Do you think it could be because I am listing in Euro? Although with the exchange rate I thought that mite be a good thing at the time

Does anyone have any tips on what I could do to promote myself? Or anything I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Don't forget to add a link to your listings to your signature. That's the first thing you can do to help. Then everytime you post, people have the opportunity to see what you're selling.

Loads of good hints for promotion on the Promotions Forum, so working your way down that should help a lot.

If you sold on any other auction sites, make sure your customers know you're over here now. Also if you have feeback on the other one, use one of the linking tools to show your f/b here.

Also, please consider supporting 'Project Second Life' (See the Promotion thread about that). We're promoting eBidders and their stores in Second Life and you don't need a SL account to do this.

    Hope this helps,

    Simon.

    Hi Zedd,
    Welcome to eBid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One tip I could give is putting an advert in the Manderley Shopping Mall on Second Life where peeps from all over the world have an opportunity to see it and they can click on the ad which can lead them directly to your eBid store. You can find the adverts by searching eBid for Second Life or click here to go to information for Ireland on the Plug Your Auctions forum and look at post #53.

Good Luck with your buying/selling on eBid.

http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=100837 getting started a few tips
if you run a website or a simple webspace eg: myspace etc. drop a ebid search box into it
    http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=94751 (it`s simple even i did it )
    http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=95311 get ebid logo`s etc.
http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=95239 add ebid search to your browser
http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=101126 scrolling pictures of your auctions
escrow srvices this is uk based and 100% genuine http://auctionchex.com/escrow-s.html

    escrow fees see here
    http://auctionchex.com/efees-s.html

remember you need to do this to get your items onto google
Google doesn't accept items that are auction only, they have to have a BuyNow price, but they can have an auction price as well.eBid upload ALL eligable items to google products 3 times a month,To qualify for uploads items need to be:
    1) Legal
    2) have a BuyNow price
    3) Have at least 7 days remaining OR are On First Bid OR are Run Until Sold at 5am on the 8th, 18th and 28th of each month

i use mostly run until sold with bin price
    for exporting fb use http://auctionfb.com/
you can add your signature to emails using your buddy point link (from myebid) click on buddy points
scroll down and copy paste to your email signature
also add the buddy points signature to your auction descriptions has someone may click your link through google it will give them incentive to join and buy tell them it is free to join

good luck dave & all others who compiled this list

i am updating this as much as i can when finding things so please be patient and follow all thats on here already

I notice that you have a zero for your feedback, perhaps buying a few things to get your feedback started would look slightly less daunting for a buyer as it would at least show your committment to the community. Do you have any previous selling history, as there is nothing about you as a seller contained in your description. It is as much about selling yourself as your product. Have a look at one of my listings to see how I have dealt with this. Psst.... I have some cheap prints to get you started
