I think the term troll relates to certain members of the boards, basically disagreeing with someones view, and effecitively folloinwg those people and reporting every fault they may make abeit in the forums or in their listings. The "trolls" as such seem to target members who they disagree with.

Thats my understanding anyway, personnally i think calling them trolls is unfair on thhe troill nation, well apart from the billy goats i dont know anyone thats met a nasty troll

...mansto an nutsey, you know very well wot I'm on about, them stupid fn listings dissing ebay and attempting to guide people away to another site....anyone attacking these listers is perfectly within their rights to do so and cannot be called trolls for doing it.

    ooooh that

i agree melboy sort off, i can imagine that if a 100 people went down to aSDA tommorow with tesco leaflets, and started telling everyone how poo they are and to go to tesco, i know a bunch of customers in Asda WOULD get angry, because asda is their shop, and the like shopping there.

Although ive been guilty myself of doing the odd anti-ebay auction, as a site ebid and its members should be encouraging to build and ebid base on its own terms rather than an anti-ebay site or rather than trying to upset ebayers.

...knew u were the sensible/rational type mansto....I can't think of any business that has succeeded by simply allowing and wallowing in the dissing of a competitor site on its forum instead of carrying out a realistic appraisal of its own promotional plans.
