Default When is a troll not a troll???

...perhaps someone can explain summat that I cannot get my head round. There are posters on here who call posters on eBay "trolls" for reporting the weird listings, you know the ones ie; "leave eBay and come to ebid" type of thing that are well gloated over on here.
How can a person who is happy on eBay be classed a "troll" for protecting his/her chosen site from this sabotage???????????
So perhaps you don't like Tesco for instance, ok, don't shop at Tesco but why try and persuade thousands of other happy Tesco-goers to stop going there to satisfy your own personal grudges.

    ...only sensible,rational people need answer.

    .....***t happens.......live with it!

Not sure if I'm sensible or rational, but I'd like to find out as well - Good question

...jewels, this is a very difficult question for some people to comprehend.....sadly.

I wouldn't call people reporting those types of posts trolls as it is effectively in breach of ebay rules. I'd rather reserve that word for the sad specimens who jump on a poster asking a (to them) serious question and taking them to pieces by criticising spelling, grammar, listings, etc.; i.e. ridiculing the poster.

Oh no, don't turn it into a "star thread". Never ever look at the stars unless someone mentions them. Just look at the thread title and if it looks interesting I read it and may or may not comment.

The first time I ever saw troll remarks was when I saw comments 'OVER THERE' on the forums saying the trolls are out reporting listings. I wasn't too sure exactly what that meant at the time.

I've seen some of the poor OP's over there getting hammered for their grammar, spelling etc rather than a decent response many times, and I think it's just terrible, not everyone's first language is English.

..I agree, in part, with what you say......but if that sort of abuse is directly aimed at one of these "sabateurs" (sp?) then I find it quite in order.

    My first language isn't English!!
I agree, I used to hate the way some posters were attacked for whatever reason, rather then getting a response to their questions.
When I first started here, there were a few things I couldn't figure out and was quite weary about asking questions on the forums (after looking for an answer); it was really refreshing to get quick to the point replies without being told I was being dim, stupid or whatever.
