Gave ebid a mention here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...p?h=0&t=497332
PH is a VERY large site with millions of posts, could be worth adding to the topic...
I found ebid from a news article on cnn.com last weekend. Then last night I did an search on google and found it there also. I'm fleeing eBay(feebayor greedbay).
Hi I just had a look, maybe you could reply to the guy that's complaining that it's http://www.eBid.net not dot com, that it's also www.ebid.co.uk

Done a post to pistonheads with your links. Well I should not get a slap for that one.
Maybe a few more people could go hammer home that Ebid is the site to sell on these days.
I don't know whether this 'e-bid' mention has already been reported but my introduction to e-bid came from reading #4 of the E-Bay Advisor magazine (page 72)
This 'unofficial' guide to £-bay did add that they 'hate to admit it' but there are cheaper ways for small businesses to list their products and went on to imply that whilst £-bay still have the weight of numbers on their side this could be offset by what they term 'Search Engine Optimisation'
Good advice!
And an interesting article about ebay:

Ken, that is SO true. I have moved from their greatest fan to hostile in 4 years. Every change has made it worse for me whereas every change here has been at worst neutral but mostly an improvement.
Just had a paypal dispute from a buyer. I had already emailed to say return the item and I will refund. After May I won't be able to neg someone who is just trying to keep the item without paying.

A very interesting change for eBay UK:
As many forum regulars will know, a lot of my sales on eBid are in the Adults/Magazine section. When I first started selling this kind of thing one could just about get away with it on ebay.co.uk. But soon my items were removed and temporary bans followed, even thou I split my selling over 3 different ebay accounts. I argued (or tried to argue) that the 70's stuff I was selling back then was really soft and shouldnt be considered as offensive. Didnt get anywhere.
Then I discovered that ebay Germany were much more relaxed about such things and shifted quite a bit on there. Then they started to remove anything newer than 1979.
Then I moved to ebay italy, but they also started getting funny about post 1979 items and I stopped listing on eBay entirely late last year.
I keep an eye on eBay adult magazine listings for the prices that stuff goes for. About 9 days ago I noticed a load of Mayfair on eBay. Asking around it seems that eBay UK have changed there adult policy to allow pre 1980 magazines. I can only think this has been done as a response to other sites (such as this) which allow adult material, becoming more of a threat. It is a bit of a blow for me actually as it was a big selling point for me. We shall see how it goes!
