Changing Email

i accidentally posted this in the wrong place thats why i am posting again

i have recently changed my email address from hotmail to googlemail. however when i went to enter my new web addres address i put in the wrong one. i left out 1 letter. i then wasnt able to sign into my account. however the email address i sent it to accidentally didnt exist(luckyily) so i created it and request the email with my password again.

However if if someone else was using that email address then they would now have my username, password and even a link to sign in.

That means they could have taken over my account bid on things i didnt want and get me the blame

I think this be changed. Maybe by
a) Asking you put in your Email Address twice when changing it
b) Sending an email to your old email address telling you its changed and letting you change back if a mistake has been made
c) When you change your email not to send you your username AND password

Some good suggestions. ebid regularly do site upgrades incorporating views and suggestions from this forum, they don't always acknowledge each individual thread though. Hopefully your suggestions will appear at the next upgrade
