Thread: Suggestion: offer an incentive to those who sell to new members

Question How do we get the £35?

...that's what I thought as well. I've not used google adsense before, but I've set up my account now. I searched for eBid, but can't work out how to do it. We need an idiot's guide of how to do it! I don't suppose you can use those links in Emails, can you? Would it have to be the buddy link in Email signatures? I don't know if you get anything for referring new buyers - could miss out on buddy links.

Also, if you have to have your own website to use adsense, that excludes us from being able to post the referral link in forums etc where most of us do our plugs.

    Hi all,

A large proportion of my newbie (zero-raters) don't pay either.

Just wanted to let T40 know there'yre not alone. LOL

Last 'sale' was to a newbies, who wanted to pay for an item of mine, but was 'struck-off' by eBid before they're even got going! Said they didn't have a clue why it had hapened. I told them to contact support, and explain all. Time will tell.

    All the best, Simon.

A large proportion (95%) of mine do pay, thank goodness. If they didn't I'd be in trouble as virtually all my sales are to newbies. I guess it depends on what you sell.

I cant understand WHY so many sellers seem to have problems with New buyers. I have been selling on here for 1 yr and 3 months and Have had only 2 NON PAYERS in that time out of about 180 sales! Sometimes you have to be very patient as THEY the buyers Also have to learn New things and sometimes wait for NEW payment methods to be installed.

Thanks Simon - it is good to know!

I'm so rubbish at using this site myself - maybe they're just struggling to come to terms with how it all works, too!

Hi Red - mine honestly weren't for want of patience - as I said - as I struggle with this stuff myself I am very patient.

Did all the usual friendly emails and offers of help etc - never got 'short' or cross, but never even got a reply...

    Ho hum.

Still - I've now made my very first, very small sale!

    : )

    What a nice chap!

I was going to suggest a friendly email can often convert them into buyers and users of the site, getting set up with PPPay is not the simplest of tasks. Encouragement is what is required, we need to retain everyone who visits. Just think if someone has a bad experience how many people are they going to tell, whereas a helpful one is excellent publicity for the site.

    Hi,
The vast majority of Ebidders i sell to are newbies.I have had NPBs who are newbies and established Ebidders. The problem is the majority of newbies do not leave feedback.Which means i do not get my buddy points, which would most likey be the same with any new incentive scheme.
    Kind regards,
    Michaela.
