Business seller problem

There seems to be a problem with the business accounts. Many of us in the UK are still unable to designate ourselves as a business, despite having HMRC business status.

Sorry Gazza, still doesn't work for Sole Traders, I can't fill in a Registration Number, as as a Sole Trader I don't have one.

Hi Lofty. A sole trader is a business. From an HMRC perspective you're in business if you buy to sell. From a consumers perspective you have more rights buying from a business seller than a private seller.

Gazza i'm not seeing any changes to the business seller fields.
Ebid business sellers will be registered with HMRC as either sole traders or partnerships. Why not give us a box where we enter our business name ( the name which appears on our tax returns), give a tick box for 'are you registered as a ltd company'? and only make the company registration fields compulsary for those who ticked yes to ltd company.

Gazza the bugfix for sellers to register as a non Ltd business is still not working. Although there is the option to put in your business or trading name you still get an error message saying that you need to enter the company place of registration. Just thought you should know

this problem seems to have been fixed now
