I would not go along with the presumption of guilt, first thing is The police who are doing a hard job, are not always right even when they produce evidence to fit the presumed crime, over the years in this country we have seen innocent people jailed for years only to set free because they were convicted on evidence that was very dubious but supported by experts at the time.

Trial by media, or the push for a story to increse circulation is an old story Ms Lees was thought to be the prime suspect for the murder of Peter Falconio, Lees was just not a standard victim, she escaped and when the rumours of her relationship with another man came to light a collective guilty was muttered by millions all over the world.

The Madeline case is one the portuguese want to go away, they are sick of it, sick of the WW media attention and don't like the shadow it is casting over its tourist trade, don't like the rumours that are being spread in other nations press about an inept, even crap police force, they just want it sorted, they want the McCann's to shut up and go home so they can get back to normal.

It is easy to think the worst and even worse still is when the worst becomes true, I have to think the McCann's are parents who made the error of leaving their kids alone for? 30-40 minutes while at a near by resturant (The baby sitting service they did not ask for only patrol the corridors and if they hear any crying or noise contact the parents or on rare occasions investigate themselve, so if the doubters are right that would not have altered anything, and also abductors of children I think, try to be quiet and discreit) and are hurting, that night will be on constant replay in their minds, so many What if 's.

I don't know anything, I just can not speculate, that road leads to alsorts of thoughts, I mean Portugal is not the most safe place for kids they have like every other place in the world had a share of scandal......
