Default How carefully do you read the auction descriptions?

Just wondering as Sometimes when I buy it tends to be a last minute rush.....Therefore I skim the descriptions...
The point being....I sell watches and just wonder if my effort to describe the watch is really worth it! I'm pretty sure most people will just look at the picture then skim the description when the Auction is about to close.

believe me, i go through an auction with a fine toothcomb if i'm about to buy, even if it is last minute.

I too am guilty of skimming when in a rush, but when not in a rush I do read the descriptions and if seller has taken time to make the effort of describing then I find the seller more approachable if there should be a question. I also check feedbacks.

That depends, if I am really interested I will read the description to make sure what I am about to bid on.

If I'm just checking out an item I will go more by the picture and skim the description.

Well i'm glad some of you skim. because as I use the 'bulk uploader' I use a generic description on almost all my listings initially, then spend forever playing catch up to add more detail.

Why do it this way? a couple of reasons..
    1. it's a lot easier to edit the description of a listed auction, than to fiddle around editing html on the ebid bulk upload spreadsheet.
    2. It's better to have an auction listed with a title, picture and incomple description - than to not have it listed at all :0)
    3. If anyone 'asks a question' on one of my auctions, i always respond promptly and take time to fully update the auction they were interested in.

This strategy isn't ideal, but there are only 24 hours in a day and because i'm selling low value items, and list a lot of new auctions each month. It's working for me.
