The Perfect Parcel Carrier!!!Sadly nothing in life is truly Perfect!!!
I used Parcel2Go once for 2 parcels. One has never arrived, or returned to me and the other they claimed they left a card because the person was out, but they never got the card. They're similar to Greedbay in sending standard template Emails out rather than replying to Emails. They didn't care that the parcel got lost, just kept quoting that it was the responsibility of the courier that they used. Unfortunately, the courier didn't leave a receipt when collecting the parcels, so it made it difficult to claim for the loss.
I use parcelforce for my heavy parcels. If you send at least 5 parcels a week, so may be able to set up a contract with them. It is £8.00 for parcels up to 10kg for 48 hour service and £9.50 for 24 hour delivery. They come and collect and you can book a 2 hour time slot and normally book same day collection. It is straightforward to claim compensation if the parcel is delayed. It works out worth sending this way for any parcels over about 2kg.
For anything over 2kg or even 1.5kg I use Interparcel, they are similar to parcel2go but without the hassle.
They charge £8.54 + VAT for most parcels unless they're too big of course and then it starts to go up. You get the option to choose which carrier to use and UPS always seem to be the cheepest. £8.54 may seem a bit steep for some but as we are VAT registered we can claim back the VAT and so all we pay is the £8.54.
I've never lost a parcel through these people and items have ALWAYS arrived next working day. They give you the option of paying via debit card or PayPal (2% charge). They are also quick to get things sorted out, I'd booked a parcel one time and got the house number wrong so I gave them a call and within about 10 minutes they'd emailed a new way bill with the correct house number on.
When I start pushing out parcels in volume then of course I'll go direct with a carrier, ANC have told us we only need to meet a quota of 25 or more parcels a month to be eligable for an account with them.
Hi
Does anyone know of a Courier who'll carry bikes to France/Eire without charging £50+ We can send up to 3m girth on our Parcelforce contract really cheaply but cannot find a suitable carrier for 3.3m.
Many thanks
