FeeBay hammered another nail in their own coffin lid today by alienating 1000's more users. They've retired TurboLister 1 tonight

There must be thousands of peeps who can't use TL2 because their PCs are too old & slow to cope with it. These peeps are likely to have problems with feeBay's new SYI form for single items too, so maybe we'll see a sudden surge of new members joining this month

I have bought on ebay and thought I would try ebid, first item I bid on and won. However the seller would not reply to email for paypal confirmation and has it advertised again for sale. Apart from negative feedback there does not seem to be any support offered from ebid.

You seem to have overlooked my response to you on the other thread

You've only been a member here for two days - when did you win the auction? How have you communicated with the seller? How do you know they have received your response?

If there is an issue, you'll be pleased to know that you get far more support here than Ebay.

I won the item today (weds) emailed twice to seller for confirmation of paypal. Saw a simlar item offered for auction today, placed bid before realising same seller. Asked seller question and 'nudged' three times. The seller knows I want contact they have visited site today to relist the item again.

I see the seller is also new to the site as they had zero feedback. I don't know if the seller is a chancer ( possibly!) or if they have two of the product for sale.
My point isnt whether or not this new seller is wrong, It's that here on EBID there is more support againts poor sellers. If you've emailed ebid support as i suggested on the other thread you wil have received a ticket number, this wil be followed up by a response from a 'real person' .
I see you've already left feedback, if the seller gets a second neg in a row this account will automatically be suspended pending investigation- that would'nt happen on EBAY either.

I'm glad you've waited to be reassured before sending money. The only other advice i can give is, don't bid on auctions on any auction site unless you're checked the sellers 'about me ' page, and the sellers feedback and you fully satisfied the seller is genuine.

This is one thing I haven't got to grips with yet - I haven't actually sold anything here yet but have quite a few listings which may well be slow sellers and I have bids from an eBay buyer who followed me across.

I suppose until I get the chance to experience the end of auction procedure I will be a little nervous. Are retaliatory negs commonplace? If I did sell and the buyer didn't buy would they be allowed to leave me a negative?

I have been listing on eBay for over 5 years and am slowly transferring most items over here - I'm a little scared about putting all my eggs in one basket following the "Sting" on eBay but if there is help to be had (and there appears to be lots of it!) then I will spend a lot of time asking questions.

I think the more of us who have been alienated by eBay's policies who bring favourite buyers with them, the better! I just hope eBid is able to cope

Anyway, nothing ventured and all that !! I was selling nothing over there during the last few weeks so selling nothing on here is better as I jumped in and went for Platinum so all I have to do is recoup the £99 fee I paid and from then on I am in profit.

I really hope eBid takes off in a big way and gives those other people a run for their money and pause for thought.

Oh, and the 5200+ feedback from eBay (100% positive) has had to be left there so being a perceived newbie on here doesn't help so I have bought on eBid to at least get started.

If new sellers to eBid did the same then things could pick up!

You could mention about your feedback from other sites on your about me page. If you use either www.feedbacksite.com or look on the www.ukauctionhelp.co.uk site there are links there that you can put on the page.

Also if you have a large feedback score, you could join the UK Auctionhelp fairtraders scheme.

    Thanks Lofty!!

I already put a link to my eBay feedback using a hyperlink in my All About Me section - I tried the Feedbacksite and it worked OK but I couldn't get it into my page - no matter, I have a text link in there instead

    Talking

I wanted to let people know that I run 2 of the largest ebay forum sites for ebay shops & powersellers. I concur that there is much discussion about ebay and their greedy tactics. I registered an ebid account a while ago, and now feel it is the time to fully commit to selling on this platform. I have created laminated cards with 20% off for ebid buyers. I still have to sell on ebay...but I want returning customers to buy from ebid...slowly but surely the tide will change....long live ebid

It has been suggested that everyone includes flyers with their ebay sales telling customers about ebid.
If you have a budget for advertising, now is the time to capitalize on ebay's greed
