[quote=rabbitburrow;524911]I think your books are great! Your p&p, is very good too, I was looking at a 'willow' virginia andrews book from another seller, and they are charging £1.99 p&p for 2nd class , I know they are allowing for packaging, handling, admin etc, but PURLEASE! (it's a paperback) I only add on 50p for all that stuff on my p&p, won't be buying from them. They are not doing ebid any favours (i found it on feebay cheaper, but won't be buying from there, will have to look at charity shops me thinks)

Sorry Sarena I'm sure you meant well, but I don't agree with your last comments ( criticising another ebid seller) and I'm glad it's not one of my auctions you're quoting, although it could have been because I list a lot of books and as there's no way I could weigh them all in advance, I set a £2.00 P & P on mine to make sure i'm covered for any larger or heavier books

in my view £1.99 is fair for P & P and considerably cheaper than the set P & P charges on sites like Amazon. The costs of stamps is only a small part of what P & P should be covering. There's also packaging, printing, the cost of lables, cost of driving to the post office, the sellers time, the (occasional) cost of replacement printers, weighing scales.. etc... and perhaps the seller offers discounts for multiple purchases.

I believe my customers think my postage is fair too, because I sell quite a few books here and get a lot of repeat customers.

No, I didn't mean yours. I wouldn't mind so much, but I asked them a question 4 days ago, and they haven't even bothered to answer, so that irked a bit! Do you think that 50p added on to postage is too low then? I don't want to diddle myself, but was worried that people might think that I am trying to recover costs of low price selling through my p&p charges?!

Lofty your book auctions look great. well presented and great value. Some of your titles ( and sadly plenty of mine!) are quite abundant on the internet - so hard to sell. The great thing about EBId is you can leave them listed here until a buyer comes along and maybe buys 3 or 4 books at a time.

Just checked out the weight of an average paperback, and the p&p seems reasonable now, it's just that they made a point of saying about remembering that the p&p cost didn't just cover postage blah blah blah, and it made me think that maybe they had had complaints in the past, so thought that maybe they were overpriced. Didn't mean to offend

    Hi again Sarena
It's really your call what you charge. every seller will have their own business model based on their circumstances. A self employed seller could have different overheads to a casual seller, or you might live miles from the post office and spend a lot of money on fares, or you might live next door!, The good thing is we're all going to do things slightly differently so there's plenty of choice for the buyers
