A monthly chart to prove that promotion works
Merlin's Magic Car Boot Sale for quality goods at way below RRP
A free link exchange with everyone who runs websites
Promotional merchandise featuring eBid and your store names
Free advertising to promote items and stores
Very cheap websites for linking straight to your stores
Press releases to make sure everyone knows that eBid provided a superb fundraising event every month

Be back soon, going for coffee

Not bad for a first attempt

Thanks for breathing some life into the sales side of things - that's it, no more compliments

I've not got much to add other than take the time to write a positive review on both dooyoo and ciao (and any other 'opinion' websites you know of), join the myspace ebid group (hat's off to the guy who thought of that - great idea) or create your own and make sure eBid is mentioned in every email you send out.

I agree with you two as well, none of my friends shop here because we havent got what they want at the moment, I am going to try and get the category going later this year and then i will promote it on both my websites and on two groups i run, until there are sellers here they won't come on the site and therefore wont list here either as there is not enough interested bidders for them, its a vicious circle.

Sorry that was for Pete and Kedo

I'd favour something to encourage sellers. How about a sort of raffle where one listing gets you one ticket. I don't have any problem with keeping going when I'm getting sales. I sold 17 items the weekend before last and I was in good spirits. It's been a bit slack since then so not quite so motivated now. The thought of a prize (no matter how remote the chances of winning it) might help.

Have to admit, my boys and me buy quite a bit online, i always use to tell them to check out ebid first, although i still check out ebid fraid my boys dont bother, they go straight to e**** as they never use to find what they wanted here, i got put off the other day from buying something from ebid, as usual i wanted to look for something and came straight to ebid, i found the item i was looking for, then went to espit and found the same item there for a much lower price.

could'nt figure out why, but tell you what

they lost a sale cos of bumping up there price

Bounce Ideas around on HOW to promote EBID

I've seen probably 3 or 4 people doing that so far. What's your 'big idea'?

    Hi Buttons

So which comes first the chicken or the egg?

What you have said is that 'the buyers don't buy because there is not enough sellers'...and sellers don't sell because there are not enough buyers'....Hmmmm....thats the problem....any ideas?

Have a click...You know you want to...

    that's the million dollar question

personally i would do an advertising campaign and approach it along the lines of persuading online traders to band together as a community and set up stores on ebid creating the widest range of items available online... make the benefits of selling on ebid crystal clear, i.e. no fees if you go platinum... if you attract more sellers there are going be tens of thousands of sellers selling on ebid.. all of which will have friends and family who they talk to about what they do.. word of mouth etc... it would bring in the buyers then. I think a campaign advertising for buyers would be a serious waste of money.

    Thats just my opinion though

btw i answered u cuz button has gone to bed... and dont ask my how i know that lol, night all

For my stuff yes i have ideas but am keeping it to myself at the moment, nothing to do with what i am selling now by the way. I think you have to get the sellers first and the promote and thats what i intend to do quite soon with me being the first sort of main seller for the moment.
