    Default A Real concern

Sorry if its a boring boring subject but we are on this site to buy and sell (in my case sell) But when I have TWO Raymond Weil Watches at £40 each on site for nearly 2 Weeks and NO SALE there is Something seriously wrong......Suggest If you dont Know the price Raymond weil watches cost Go and have a look at there web site........I have listed over 150 watches now and apart from the ones I've sold through the forum...Zilch sales....On the other hand I am torn as listing 150 watches on fee bay would cost me a fortune.....But at least I would have shifted some...There seems to be plenty of Viewing but no buying......And that's what worrying. On fee bay I get the same sort of Viewing and they would have sold by now...WHY WHY WHY are they Buyers NOT Buying???

Well, I don't know about other people, but I'll tell you what puts me off.

    1.
I strongly dislike your choice of colours, styles and layout for the auction description.
The jazzy backgrounds look amateurish, the text looks messy and that spangly/starry font does my eyes in.

I'd suggest you tidy it up, lose the background, lose the spangles and align the text in a table.

    2.
    Your honesty is self-defeating.
Please note** If the item above is a mechanical watch and is stated as working there is no guarantee that it will run for long or keep acurate time. I RECOMMEND that the watch is always taken to a professional jeweler for a good clean.
That reads like a get-out clause for watches which will probably break within ten minutes and are manky. It's not how you meant it to be read and I'm sure it's not true, either.
If you insist on being this honest, then stick it on your ABOUT page and link to it but get it off the auctions themselves.

So that's my opinion. Obviously you are free to tell me to get stuffed and ignore what I've written, or you could take it as constructive criticism and consider making some changes. Remember, most sellers never find out why people ignore their auctions, these comments could be gold dust.

    Hi Rednosty,
Agree that this line - "there is no guarantee that it will run for long or keep acurate time" can be worrying for buyers. If I buy a watch, I would want to know that it 1. Works 2. can be trusted to tell me the time.

Perhaps you could rephrase it to reassure buyers.

You also say to see your returns policy, but don't say where your returns policy is.

Why do you start so many threads using negative icons such as sad faces and downturned thumbs? It's off putting for visitors checking out the forums for the first time, and in my view does not reflect the real position.

If you want to plug your auctions- there's a special forum for it.
If you want others to critique your auctions - then put that in the thread title - but please reconsider all these downturned thumbs!!

My experience over the past couple of weeks is that my sales have INCREASED, and according to the forum poll on this subject - this is the same for the majority of users.

On a personal level, I buy regularly on EBID, but find lots of negative postings a turn off when choosing a seller, because negative postings could be scaring away potentual customers for all of us!. I'm probably not the only one who feels this way.

I have changed the colours and the Returns policy.
The auctions you've looked at are the older style.

    Here is the new style......

Any more constructive critism would be very welcome thank you.

Well we all know the answer to that Red,there aren't the amount of buyers on here as there are on feebay.
Can I make a suggestion? If you are committing yourself to selling on Ebid rather than on feebay, why not put a picture on each of your auctions over there saying something like:"This item is cheaper on ebid "& show a link to your shop here.A photo won't register as a link so won't be picked up by their spiders/robots whatever.Obviously if someone reports it,it's a different story.!Anything to bring your customers over here ay?
