Damien, it happened. That's all I can say. I could open the Forum page but not read any topics.

That sounds like you have a cookie set on your machine which automatically logs you in for each visit. Once identified by such a cookie the forum software would have been set to act as it did. Removal of such a cookie would have left you looking just like an unregistered guest and therefore able to view everything in the forums if not reply to it.

Since I clear my cookies regularly, I am pretty certain it was the IP address. The way the Forum is now I have to log in every day, which is a pain in the butt.

some feel that more than one option is appropriate

29 voters and a total of 37 options chosen

i guess.... if they feel the poster should be punished, and then that all punishments would be appropriate.... they could have ticked all the negatives


what a harsh world that would be

i guess without the picture displayed, its difficult for those who didnt get a glimpse, to judge how inappropriate or harmless the image was and the context in which it was put up

but thats all my fault for the way i set up the poll

however, might have nothing to do with my error and it could be that some would find the picture of a headless bare bottom, with red cheeks and no gentialia displayed, so it could have been male or female (as there is no way to prove either), and the hand of a man dressed in a cowboy outfit hovering over said bottom - extremely offensive which leads them to believe the poster deserves total removal from the site

but everyone is entitled to their own opinion which is the whole point of the poll

then again it could just be someone who hates silkcity (joking)

elaine, that comment certainly wasnt directed at you, if you want me to be totally honest, i had a particular male lurker in mind.

im surprised you dont feel punishment for someone doing something 'wrong' isnt a voting matter

forget that its silkcity, forget that you feel the poll/thread is personal to you.

i made a total balls up (are we allowed to say balls anymore?) of the poll

i have even made a bigger balls up with my last post, cos one minute im saying - treat it as any offensive pic, the next im saying a spanking pic



but hell im only human too

this poll is set to self distruct on the 7th i think, if i dont decide its run its full course sooner

there is only one good thing that can come from it

that ebid admin take a look and maybe rethink their dishing out of punishment for different 'crimes'

and of course, some sort of guidence given within the rules of posting would be good

I'm suprised they banned his auctions because of the pic. I thought the forums were separate. I remember when others were banned from the forums, they were still able to run their auctions.

Personnally, I think a quick note from G&M with a request that the image be removed would have been more appropriate. Then, if it happened again a forum ban may be appropriate.
