We like criss crossing ours... for whatever reason, we get millions of credit card applications from barclays and capital one... so we send them back the junk (with whatever other junk we got that day and swap the envelopes over... so barclays get capital one and cap 1 gets barclays application... and some other crap... with a police note saying "no thank you"

If I want a credit card I'll apply for one !!!!

    police note LOL

I was wondering about when they start charging us extra for all our rubbish, as most of it is junk mail anyway and a neighbour can easily fill your bin up with his rubbish, but this 'sending it back to the company in their pre-paid envelope etc' sounds brilliant!!!!

Has anyone ever sent junk bag in those envelopes? Not just what you get but rubbish and stuff. Show them the true meaning of 'junk' mail

We usually send whatever rubbish we get in that days mail back in the pre paid envelopes... this could be used envelopes ripped up that have had PROPER mail in them... it could be fliers for double glazed windows... it would be any cripe we didn't ask for so long as it makes the nevelope as heavy as possible. Anything that won't go in the envelope goes in the shredder and is used for packing.

    I thought not.

So why on earth do they insist on sending you TONS of the SHI*

    Clogging up emails and doorways.

We must fill a black bag a week with unwanted newspapers and flyers, junk mail etc.

We dont have a local re-cycling place and no transport to go further afield. I have asked them UMPTEEN times NOT to post the free newspapers and other shi*e ... do they listen ? DO THEY ****!

Emails ... i dont know about you but i just tick the box for DELETE ALL then scan the page for NON SPAM and untick those few.

Your only allowed 99 blocked emails usualy or else id BLOCK 99.9% of the shi*e that comes my way.

WASTE OF MONEY, TIME , RESOURCES.!

elaine do the bits that get stuck through the door with your post - that isnt actually adressed to you or anyone bug you?

the sort of thing i mean are big folded up sheets of shop offers, internet/cable/phone offers, envelopes with no names or addresses on them

the royal mail make posties deliver the stuff, at present they have a limit of 3 pieces a week, but its due to change to five pieces a week

i dont think the address gothicina has given you will help with that, all i can think you can do is to write to royal mail, head office or something, (as its policy set by those on high)

postmen dont have a say in it and if they didnt deliver it, they would be booted

mind you i dont think rm will take much notice unless there was some huge campaign

i dont suppose there are any laws or regulations about people advertising by sticking stuff through doors are there?

if there were, then maybe you could use it to try and stop them

You could send the takeaway leaflets to a different takeway shop (without a stamp of course) and the double glazing to another double glazing company and those no win no fee leaflets to another no win no fee company!

I signed up to stop Junk Mail. It worked well for a while. It cannot, however filter out junk mail personally addressed to me. I get a lot of these as apparently they get your name and address from the Electoral Role. Last year I opted to have my name withheld, and it caused me no end of problems when shops and the banks tried to verify my name and address. This year I allowed my name and address to go on the list, and the spam started arriving. The postman delivered, "unnamed" stuff can't be stopped either. I have tried. I even asked the postman to put them straight in the recycling bin by the front gate if he has to deliver them. That would save me the walk. No can do. It has to be put through the letterbox.

I get between 3 and 5 pieces of junk with every post. There are 16 pieces of junk mail since last Thursday. 4 pieces this morning. Double glazing, roof lining, solar panels. I can't remember what the 4th one was, as I made a paper aeroplane out of it, and threw it to the cat to shred. It now resembles confetti. Maybe I should shove it in an envelope every month, addressed to the Postmaster General and send it with no stamp on?
I gather using prepaid envelopes other than for replying to the firm which pays for the stamp is illegal. So sending them each other's mail is OK, using them to write to Auntie Flo isn't.
