I've just received a payment through pppay.
Item inc p.p was £2.15
pppay charged buyer 49p then charged me 7p because it was a credit card payment.
So I got £2.08 and the buyer paid £2.64.
I have a message across all of my auctions warning buyers that if they pay this way they wil be charged.
How on earth are new buyers supposed to have money in their pppay account so they can avoid the charges? In fact, how does ANY buyer manage to get money into their account.
PPPay may be OK for sellers but buyers are getting a raw deal...IMHO
That happened to me.
I purchased a item and including postage was 1.99, when I paid via pppay.com I was charged .49p for the transaction. I thought well I'mm stuck with it..
After a lot of emails to the seller over 8 weeks after not gettting the item, the seller kindly sent me a refund.
when I looked at it, I only got 1.93 back as they charge ME for the credit..
Does not seem fair to me!!
I am seriously thinking of not offering pppay as an option. I wanted to support PPPay but I feel they are a total rip-off for buyers.
I hate the idea of using Paypal and giving them ANY money, but at least your buyers are not charged, and you always have the option of adding their fees into the equation when setting your selling price.
PPPay are also so slow to send your money to your bank. I made a withdrawal request and waited for it to turn up in my bank account. Over a week later it was still showing in my PPPay account as waiting to be initiated. So I didn't have use of the funds either in PPPay or in my bank account.
I emailed them and complained and two days later I received an email saying the transaction had been processed. Another five working days for it to show in my bank account.
In the meantime I made two withdrawal requests at Paypal and both went into the bank within a few days....all within the time I was waiting for pppay to send my one request.
And PPPay charged me 75p for the pleasure of being mucked around.
I think pppay are a waste of time and money. I do not offer pppay. pppay is even worse than paypal!!!
