So we should all stop buying if we are going away :?:

I dont think I would do that because for one thing, if there is something I have wanted for a while why should I miss out because I am going away :?: and secondly most people have thanked me for letting them know I was going away (even before I knew I had won or not whichever the case may be).

Hi soopergirl nothing personal maybe I did not make my self clear what I meant was people who list or bid and then go away without an email or anything and then expect everything to be ok when they come back.I like this site but "comms" are very poor for some reason.

Its ok I didnt take it personally, I have now bought 5 items from ebid, had 2 feedback, but I have left everyone feedback that I have got the goods from. Why am I asked to leave feedback and yet the seller cant be arsed to say thanks to me for buying their item. I have one item that I am waiting for then feedback will be left.
I agree with you about bidding and not paying but I had the same from someone when I bought from them. I didnt leave them neg feedback but I was going to then I got a hasty email saying they had family probs and this was the only time they could mail me. It took 4 weeks for my stuff to get her but on that occasion I waited, now I would complain

To be honest, when I know I am going to be on holiday I remove all my auctions. I'm not there to answer any questions a potential bidder may have so if I can't provide the level of service that I want to then I'd rather not sell.

Likewise I wouldn't bid on an item when I knew the auction ended when I was away unless it was exceptional circumstances, in which case as I'd email the seller.

It's the lack of communication which is the worst thing in any internet transaction.

I agree kgp321, but like I said I always email and tell the person. I have been lucky as far as selling goes. I try not to put things on if I know I am going to be away. Its unfair to expect people to bid on things if they are unsure about something and need an answer before bidding.

Having said that, there is still no excuse for not leaving feedback, I have won items and am still waiting for feedback nearly a month down the line. I think its unfair if the seller does not leave feedback when they get their money.
