Thread: BIN - without a staring price

  1. #1

Smile BIN - without a staring price

It'd be great to be able to put a dutch auction in on just 'Buy It Now' without a starting price to consider.

Also - Hi Mark & Gary,
    And hello everyone else too.
I'm new, come over from the other side and apologise for only coming once I needed you - but hope I can make up for that over the next few weeks by bringing some good offers with me.

    Regards
    Faye

try to pop in and see our packaging in a few days when some more is listed.

    It's great.

BuyNow option can be added to a normal auction or a dutch auction by adding a BuyNow price when starting the auction. The BN price must be greater than reserve (normal auction) or greater than starting price (dutch)

Yes but there are problems with this; the item ends once one item has been sold, and we can't leave feedback till the item ends. It really would be good to have proper BIN only shop listings in our shop, preferably on an ad-finitum cycle.
At the moment I am looking forward to (not!) relisting all my items manually every 100 days (3 months) time and even more often on some types of listings.
Even just adding an 'untill cancelled' feature would be EXCELLENT!.

    I agree.
The problem is that once a Buy it Now has been used, we can't leave feedback until the item ends, which could be ten days (depending on how you set up your listings). A simple Buy it Now ONLY option would be very useful indeed - you could list however many of the item that you have, put up the listing, and then allow them to sell. We also need to see the full seller details at the bottom of the auction as soon as an item's sold, and to be able to leave feedback immediately as well, (as lots of buyers pay instantly).

If I am right, and I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm not.....Relisting after 100 days is simple...just tick the repost button and its done...

If we have a 'until cancelled' feature then surely that leaves the way open for someone to just 'forget' they have the auction running...people bidding, winning, and getting no contact, bad image for Ebid...etc etc.....or even worse...no bidders and it going around forever.
By having to relist it after 100 days surely that means that the 'deadwood' is filtered out eventually...and ensures all the auctions are 'live' auctions on the site.

I am now waiting to be told I am wrong...

I agree....its not just a bind for the seller...its totally confusing for the buyer...
