Default How to use the "promote your auctions" board

I'm sure i read somewhere that there are guidelines for the promotions board which ask sellers to start no more than one new thread a week, and where possible to post on their old threads rather than start new ones. The advantages of this are all sellers get a fair chance of exposure rather than 2 or 3 sellers with multiple promotion threads- which tends to make people less likely to visit the thread!

can anyone recall where these guidelines were posted please? and provide a link to the thread

I think someone asked on the forum and it was posted there... I don't even bother to promote mine anymore Val as each time I do it dissapears rapidly so not worth the hassle.

The only rules I could find are under Forum Rules which are at the top of every page in the forums above the latest post.
Forum Rules - Please follow these.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Simple rules of posting.
    - No swearing in whatever language or whatever spelling.
    - No pimping (advertising own auctions) allowed, apart from a single pimping thread within the Kitchen Table forum.
    - No posting of personal data, names or addresses.

    First Ban is 2 Days
    Second Ban is 7 Days
    Third Ban is Permanent.

i dont think any official guidelines were set down val (but may have missed them)

i started a thread asking for ideas, and i gave a suggestion of one thread per seller each a week, if you then wanted to change what you were promoting - you either added to your thread or deleted it and set up a new one (or something like that)

it was so that the pimping forum didnt end up dominated by one or two sellers who were putting new threads everyday and at times more than one thread a day.

think i put a post in the pimping forum asking all those that pimp to visit the support forum and give their view/ideas on how they would like it to work.

    may be worth trying again
