I thoroughly check my postage charges so as to not over charge my buyers and I am also happy to review shipping charges on multiple purchases.

I agree. When selling on Ebid you should sell for less than on Ebay. It stands to reason. We pay far less fees (if any at all), and we want to get as many buyers over here as possible!
Why would any seller try to discourage people from buying from Ebid, instead of Ebay? If Ebid doesn't take off, Ebay will continue as it's always been - with zero competition, they will continue to screw us all.
Hi
It could be that when listing new items people are doing so with the new Royal Mail PIP costs in mind. I have listed a few things here and have done so with slightly higher p&p to take that into consideration. All new listings over there will also have that done but all old ones will run as they are till finished.
Hi yes i think you are correct in that, i think this new postal hike is frightening a lot of people from listin at the moment as you could be way out with your postage, i have a lot of big items to list but could end up a couple of £ out of pocket on each if i am not carefull so i am hanging on.... the only other way is to list without postage and add postage on request in the listin, but it has happened on here in the past that by doing that that members assume the postage is free.![]()
That could be a good point now but the thread was started on 5th June, i don't think this little gem from the P O, had even been thought up then.
I posted a parcel yesterday, i charged £6 p&p, it cost me £7.70 lol, oops. i made a boo boo, never mind, i'd rather that than unintentionally rip someone off. lol.
My auctions, good prices, fair p&p.

I think fair prices on postage and product are so important, and at the moment I am finding it tricky with the PiP coming on Aug 22, some things will be cheaper to send but I think what will happen, is most of the items that are cheaper to send now will cost more and a few that cost more will be a little less...*?#~#.
Hi
Not saying that all are hiking their p&p costs for the PIP reason, so it could be for other reasons. But PIP has been in discussion on the other powerseller boards from June so we can't know for sure...
Oh i see, i didn't realise it had been in the pipeline for that long.
I guess a lot could account for that when it's just a little extra, it's the low priced items, with huge p&p that get my goat. £1 to buy, anywhere between £20 & £200 p&p that you know will only cost around £3-£5 (maybe a bit more if coming from abroad) to send including any packaging costs.

An example of PiP is-An Annual wrapped in an jiffy= 600g cost £1.78 second now, PiP price would be £1.09.
A Paperback book wrapped =300g cost 88p second, PiP price would be £1.39. Its a case where size matters, if the annual was boxed or 4mm thicker it would be £1.77.
Over all my feeling is PiP may have been devised to up the profits of Royal mail and will have the biggest impact on online sellers and it bugs me no end, and maybe if there was a protected area on this forum with a warning about strong language I would say alot more about Royal Mail, not just the PiP but their whole customer care, customer care,CUSTOMER CARE,C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R C-A-R-E, why do Royal Mail and C-U-S-T-O-M-E-R C-A-R-E seem to be words that just do not sit together very well....I feel my heartbeating faster and....oooh ya know some things get me steaming, I may not be the biggest spending customer that enters the post office, but I do get that unwanted feeling in there, I mean if I was spending the same ammount in most any other place they would be happy to see me![]()
Tell me about it. I have crystal keyrings still to list, unwrapped they would fit as a large letter size on the PiP chart. The minute you stick it in a Jiffy bag it becomes a packet and the price goes up.![]()
