Thread: ex-eBay sellers - let's stick together!

I think the best way for the Ex-Ebayers to promote Ebid is to offer lower prices than their current prices on the DARK SIDE. Then hit their current customer base and tell them, hey Mr(s) Customer, come to Ebid, prices are lower here blah blah.

Its not as if we are paying fees, so, for me, reducing items by 50p on each item is just reducing the cost by what Ebay use to charge me... so its no loss, but will generate extra customers (no, I haven't got round to emailing them yet, looking like the weekend now).

Anyway, anyone else with any suggestions?

I totally agree with you - since we're saving so much money in feeds compared to Greedbay, we can offer our customers a discount, which should attract more people over here. We've got nothing to lose, as it costs nothing to list if you don't sell anything, and they have something to gain - the same product from the same person, but at a cheaper price!

I've just read an article about feebay in Business Week

    http://www.businessweek.com/the_thre..._blog_techbeat

From what I am reading, it looks like feebay is trying to get rid of all the stay at home sellers and small business sellers and just keep the business to business ones ...

    sucky merchandise indeed !!

There are a whole lot of buyers looking for that merchandise. Guess it will not be sold on feebay in a few months time, so best tell your buyers quickly where you are.

Thanks, interesting article. Disappointing that though eBid's worldwide, yet there's not one ref to eBid in either the article or all the comments added below.

    There is now.

Will I quit eBay? Unlikely - yet! But I will be moving thousands of unique items and mass handicraft-production items from eBay to their largest UK competitor www.eBid.tv where it's FREE to List, FREE to sell - everytime, if you use the site to best advantage.
eBid has captured tens of thousands of disaffected eBay users over the years, around 5000 in July 2003 alone, and creeping up to 1,000 PowerSellers since July 20th this year. eBay has made at least one attempt to buy eBid, and the owners gave them the bird.
    Well done Gaz........
