Just thinking actually, I bet there are very few sellers who NEVER buy, so just due to the fact that we are setting up shop here, we are sort of bringing the buyers with us anyway aren't we. As you say we have to support each other.

Wrightaway, I will be doing that actually, keeping shops on both sites and this has also given me the push I need to set up my own website. I am going to give everything a go, then evaluate in a few months.

    Smile Hi Elaine

Just thought I would join the thread and say HI, I have started to move listings over to ebid from ebay. Time consuming at the mo tho ;-)

great advice. I will continue to use the ebay auction site to drive business to ebid...... I am sure most sellers will realise that Ebay will for now and perhaps always have a huge auction audience.

I have made the desision however to stop buying on ebay. I plan to browse the shops on ebid and buy from newbies and olbies! I would prefer to call us all Ebiddies :-)

As a newbie I welcome any comments and support from all ebidders. Thanks in advance to any replies ;-)

most of my buyers have been seeing it like
no feed on ebid so cheaper postage or cheaper start bid
on ebay you had to put say you're item start at £2.99 to cover costs
here you could start at £1.99 etc
i have defo cut my items down compared to ebay
and i dont mind accepting paypal where as on ebay i wouldnt accept paypal,
but im liking the pppay.com and have registered so may use that too.

still waiting tho for my first bid/bought item then i will list more,
after all DOESNT COST A THING
    which i love!!!!!!

so loving ebid!! and will continue doing so while ebay can do kiss my @@@@ lol :d

Hi to all the new bodies

I see many of you don't have the links to your new ebid stores in your signatures - to add them just go to User CP on the red bar at the top of the forum and you'll find the signature option ;-)

It is easy to accept paypal - you merely need to state in your listings that you accept paypal. You can obtain a paypal button from your paypal account using the merchant tools and copy and paste the html code into your listing and / or you can email your buyer at the end of the auction listing your payment options (strongly recommended) and giving them your paypal account info.

PPPay is a payment processor similar to paypal, only not as well known. It is used fairly often because ebid automatically sends all winning bidders an email at the end of the auction and the only payment option shown in it is PPPay (whether or not you accept PPPay), so most buyers tend to think that the only way that they can pay is using PPPay.

PPPay has a verification process, however, so if you do decide to accept it get your own account verified or you won't be able to use or withdraw the funds in your account. Also, state in your listings that you only accept PPPay payments for verified account holders - many buyers don't realise that their accounts have to be verified before you can actually accept and access their payment, so the money could be sitting there for months if their account is not verified before they pay you.

Hi all, I joined ebid just over a month ago and although I didn't have a shop on ebay I do think that the changes for shop owners will have a negative knock on effect on the rest of ebay's sellers.
I've realised that I can sell items on ebid that I just couldn't consider on ebay because of the extremely cheap fees on here.
What I would like to do as well as building up some feedback (I'm starting to add a link to my ebay feedback on my ebid listings to see if it helps) is build up a balance in my pppay account so I can use that to make instant purchases on here.
I can't believe the low / lack of fees on here, what a difference it makes and it's going to take some getting used to factoring fees out of my listings.
I'll be uploading more listings after the weekend (making them up in turbolister and transferring the html from there, thanks ebay for that help) so feel free to take a look at what I have and I will do likewise with anyone else on here.
I have more in a range of cards to upload and will add another identical listing when any are bid on (but only once a day) so there's no need to bid up on any of those as another will be along in a day at most.
It's so nice to feel that we are not alone on here and have come over with a bunch of friends.
I'm sure we'll all soon make new friends here too.
For the last month I've been sending out my ebid id to any purchasers fron ebay and will continue a presence there and keep doing the same, hopefully some of my regulars will come over and then spread the word themselves. Ebid will need to prepare for a rise in every department. There are probably some stunned and chuffed people sitting watching the membership grow exponentially.
    Good luck to everyone.
