What would you pay to have your portrait done

Just out of curiousity I wondered what would people pay to have their portrait done.
I am talking about a detailed drawing not a painting which takes a lot longer to do.
I would be really interested in some feedback on this please

Nothing , i come from a family of artists ... i am one of the not so good ones. But i can still draw, paint a portrait ... so i would do my own

people dont commission their own portraits, someone else does that, thats how it works, only an idyoot would buy their own.

i would consider having a portrait done and I am no idiot or idyoot

the reason i would consider it, would be to give as a somewhat foul gift - like to my parents for instance

no they havent done anything wrong, they really would like something like that

mind you i would probably want it with not just me in the picture, or scrub me out of it and get one done of my sisters kids



but back to the original question

i have no idea, i have never researched what it would cost to have it done

...it would also depend on how good the artist was


...and if they could make me look 20 years younger, a number of stones lighter, stunning and still retain some semblance of me

I only ever had one done, on holiday a Caricature, in (pastel) cost me £20 and it is still in the box, lol, an excellent likeness, but exaggerates all my bits I prefer to forget. The mole, which he made into a mountain, and I swear my nose is not that big.
