As Elaine said, this point had been brought up before, and there were a lot of partipants that felt that if it states clearly in their listing that their auction is NOT for charity, then bidders could make their own minds up whether to bid or not.... I guess the focus at the outset was more on the competition than it was on the charity. I can't say that I have noticed any auctions that HAVEN'T been for charities for quite a long time... maybe that is due to a lot of newer members getting involved in the YDC fun and assuming the "C" is for charidee! lol

So I'll vote make them all for charity - doesn't HAVE to be the nominated charity of course.

    I voted YES

I agree with what someone else said (I think they did anyway LOL) about having YDC auctions for charity (I always assumed they were anyway) and if people didnt want to sell for a charity, they could just do normal auctions.

I have been putting stuff of the YDC for quite a while, only ever thought that the YDC was for charity.

The trouble I have is I don't really collect a lot on these YDC charity auctionsm I requested quite a while ago that peeps that won my auctions not to send me the money, gave them the option of either adding the money to any other auction they might have won, or adding the money to their charity auctions and paying into a charity of there choice.

Think peeps on here can vouch that is what i do.

It seems daft only collecting a couple of quid at a time, pity we did not choose a charity for the month, all money collected goes into 1 pot, then the charity will have a nice little sum to come.

I know it sounds like hard work - working out all the money ect. but it can be done
Life is serious but taking it too seriously robs you of
    happiness, fun and productivity

    make them all for charity

as someone else mentioned, if they arent - then people can quite easily list them without the ydc publicity

Perhaps it should be renamed YDCC?
