This could be a good idea and maybe make a section for each site --- example, UK, USA. etc.

simple idea with no overhaull needed by ebid to do it

    hi hawkman

things have changed a bit, but they never updated the forum rules

for instance, forum posting rules in the kitchen table say

No pimping (advertising own auctions) allowed, apart from a single pimping thread within the Kitchen Table forum

but...... as it stands, pimping IS NOT allowed in the kt

and only allowed in the promote your auctions section of the forums

(yes i know your pimped in the kt, but we were all kind and didnt point it out that you shouldnt )

maybe when the new version of ebid kicks in, things like this will be sorted

its just a matter of having set guidelines to give everyone a chance to promote what they do

.....and to encourage more people to do so which in turn will encourage more people to browse that section

if its made too complicated then - well - people may as well just go and browse the actual auctions instead

I havent seen one person creating thread after thread, but a limit would be a good idea if this was happening more. For the moment i think its ok, i just started one thread and updated it with stuff i had added. I do like the forum, its very handy say for mothers day if ur looking around but dont know what to get its hard to use the search function if you dont know what your after! The plug your auction forum is good because people have unique stuff you probably wouldnt find just browing through ebid on its own;-)

The no-pimping rules killed my sales ..... add it to my signature list

Personally all I see when KT comes up it is all quizes. Its a waste of time pimping your auctions. They are knocked off in a matter of minutes.
OK! I am guilty sometimes of starting a new thread for mine when I am selling something new, but I only update that thread. I don't splatter it anywhere else except in the plug your auctions and I thought that, that is what it was for.
I have notice others putting a link to there auctions all over the place. So it looks like the "no pimping rule" went out window. I have even have people pimping their auctions on my threads, that have had nothing to do with auctions.
