Thread: 60 minute and Happy Hour auctions

  1. #11

    Unhappy

I think the 60 min auctions are pretty fair but the happy hour options are a rip off. Who in there right minds want to sell somthing they have just paid £4 to get into wants ripped off for £1 or £2. I can understand then, why some people are putting their postage fees up. I have myself had some unfortunate losses on happy hour and I will certainly not be using it again, until there is a fairer system. You might as well give your items away. I certainly couldn't afford my stuff going at the prices they are going for in happy hour. The only happy people ther are the buyers, I'm afraid.

I think they should change what they use the front page for. I can see people paying £1 or even £4 extra if they have a high value item, and want it on the front page, but as anybody can see, most of the items are low cost items, because it's such a risk for the seller to put up a high value item and just hope it reaches the price they wanted. If you could start the item at whatever price you wanted, I think this would be much better, and would improve the look of the site. (Not that there's anything wrong with the cheaper items, I buy them myself, but the site as a whole doesn't benefit IMHO, if all newcomers see when they first come here, are lower price items. (i.e. I expect a lot of buyers come looking for electrical and PC goods, which are rarely listed in Happy Hour or 60min auctions).
If we could set a start price, I'd use them a lot (presuming anything sold as a result!).

What are you talking about. We already have front page and there are some pricey items on there! At least there, your auctions are going for a fair price. We are talking about items being sold at £1,or if your lucky slightly more and paying £1, or £4 for the privilege. It has nothing to do with the items being CHEAP!! as you put it. The majority of MY items are hand made. Are you saying they are CHEAP just because I put them in these auctions. That is the price they are set at in these auctions.
