    Default Misleading "Views" counter.

    Hi, All,

I've just joined eBid and it seems like a good time to point out the site's flaws before I get used to and stop noticing them.

Here's the first one that's really annoying me :

When I am logged in and view one of my items the "Views" counter is incremented - worse still, it increments x2 (twice).

It is reasonable that sellers should occasionally wish to view their items but the Views counter should not be incremented when they do (when logged in) as this is misleading and makes it difficult to keep track of how much attention items are actually receiving.

Apologies in advance if I'm missing something - as I say - I'm new here.

    Hiya,

That's a good point you make, it would be good if eBid could somehow make the software recognise if you are viewing from your "My eBid" (and not count the click) or if the view came from the main listings (and count the click)....

    Welcome to eBid

Welcome Tallshrew. The new version of eBid may very well have a solution to this issue. Although if it is counting each hit twice, that is odd. Maybe something odd is going on because of the upgrade of the system.

I definitely think so. Particularly if you're having to repost several times before someone buys.
